FERA love for Scarlett de la Torre's Mission at EL PIDA Refugee Camp

El Pida means 'Hope' in Greek, set up by Sandra Hakim, Amed Khan, and Frank Giustra, after witnessing the refugee camps in Greece up close and their total shock at the inhumane conditions that were being endured.  All the families sent to El Pida have been deemed "vulnerable cases" by the Greek Ministry of Migration, which indicates they've suffered violence, disease, or some "extra" degradation, beyond what almost all refugees experience.

'Human beings who have been through unimaginable destruction are now living in inhumane conditions that defy description. We as human beings have to do better for them."

The team took an abandoned textile factory in Thessaloniki, and out of the large open factory floors built individual housing units. They also carved out common spaces equipped with electricity, running water, plumbing and kitchens. El Pida has room for 700 when operating at full capacity.

Scarlett will be visiting the camp in June and is raising funds to acquire instruments for the refugees. Much like her recent trip to Kolkata, where she will teach music instruction, sing songs, and bring love and light to people who have crossed the ocean to escape war and start a new life.

Part of the FERA ethos is to give back as we create, spreading love in these current times is more important than ever and our first charity initiative will be to support Scarlett with this epic cause, with 20% of sales going to the cause until the end of May.
